Players/coaches/administrators who were innocent, so why have punishments at all. You think Pete Carroll and Reggie Bush felt the sanctions put on USC due to their mistakes?
All I did was ask you a question...and said that sometimes an over-reaction brings sensitivity to an issue, which can mitigate future problems. I'm not staking a claim or declaring a universal truth. I don't really care if you agree or not, just bringing up another angle to the argument.
Clearly there is more than one way to handle the situation...just pointing out my opinion on the matter. Don't really have the time or desire to convince you with research-based evidence. So...I guess you win.
Just a hunch, but I bet you're rarely wrong, am I right?
