in years past, but it hasn't seemed to help even a little bit. By extending the season a week it has reduced the number of back-to-back games teams in general have had to play this year, but players are still being rested just as much if not more than before.

I think the only way to fix it is to reduce the actual number of games OR impose some sort of penalty for resting otherwise healthy players.
