My son got them at 12 months (both ears). They are amazing...
Much different than getting them if you are post-lingually deaf (likely you, I assume). I have talked to post lingually deaf adults with them that say music sounds very different (most don't like it). But, they universally love hearing speech again.

You have to be prepared to say goodbye to the natural hearing you have left (which is probably very little if you are a candidate). If you are hesitant, you might consider just getting just one initially. If you like the result, you can then spring for the second.

They have been amazing for my boy. One of the true medical miracles of our time.
