Like Jarom said on the show it is the logical vs the emotional response
Statistically speaking you would take LSU every time because you are not favored to beat LSU and we are already favored to beat Utah. Most logical to vote for taking LSU win, but many fans (especially those in Utah) are more impacted by Utah losing because of interaction with Ute fans at church/work.
Totally with you on picking LSU. Not even a question for me and I have lived in both Utah and outside of it. I just don't get roped into the rivalry in the same way that other BYU fans seem to.
Even if our odds were the same to beat LSU as they are to beat Utah at around 50%, I would still pick LSU because they are the more elite program that will provide more national recognition.
