Any Medical Doctors on CB that might be able to answer a few questions?
My wife started to experience some retro sternal pressure about 3 weeks ago that we thought could have been some type of reflux, so she started to take some Prilosec. About the same time she started to notice tenderness at and around her thyroid and neck. But no other symptoms.

It didn't really get better with Prilosec but about a week later she started to have difficulty taking deep breathes where she would have a little cough when inhaling. It kind of sounds similar to if you tried to take a deep breath and there is really poor air quality you have to take that weird cough for some reason.

About 10 days ago she had her heart racing at above 160bpm and it goes on for 4 hrs and we take her to ER. To make this part of the story short, she responds very well to the cardioverson from the adenosine right away. She gets Dx with SVT. Sees a cardio a few days later and is Dx with AVNRT form of SVT.

While at the cardio we mention and ask if the SVT has anything to do with her sternum pain and her thyroid tenderness and difficulty taking a deep breath. The Dr listened to her lungs and didn't seem to think it is anything to be worried about.

Now a week later she is out of town in Utah dropping off my daughter to EFY and spending time when her family and it kind of sounds like the condition is getting worse

Being a PT and knowing a little bit of anatomy I start to look up Thyroid issues (I try and not look stuff up for a couple weeks because it only makes one worry more). She isn't gaining weight, so I don't think it is any type of hypothyroid problem. Hyperthyroid symptoms sound a little bit more like what she is kind of dealing with BUT doesn't explain at all, her ability to not take a deep breath without coughing. She hasn't been sick lately but maybe a few months ago she could have had a cold or something. Also had a yeast infection about 8 weeks ago. Only mention these things because it sounds like sometimes an infection can cause an issue with the thyroid (for obvious reasons) and actually linger or present itself a few months later (on rare occasions).

No other symptoms (no fever). Just malaise and feeling about "70%" of her normal energy level.

I know it's a shot in the dark but any ideas of what it could possibly be? I am trying to make her go to the Dr tomorrow, but this is kind of driving me nuts.
