It is not always bad but when it is it can be soul crushing. BigLaw also can differ wildly between firms/practice groups. I think the part that I hate the most is that I am never off. I can leave the office at 6:00 but I will constantly be checking my phone until I go to bed. Same on the weekend/holidays/vacations. I don't work on all the weekends/holidays/vacations but it is constantly in the back of my mind.
