a different way than the banking/PE associates were to their senior folks. But, in my experience the partners (at least at the white shoe firms) are much more genteel than the bank/fund guys, who can be very crass and abrasive. This is all with the caveat that my experience is with a narrow set of BB banks and large funds. I don't have any real sense for how the smaller shops operate.
