I don't know if you like to backpack, but IMO that's the way to do Yosemite.

We've got 3-4 families all with kids 10 and under, so we won't be doing tents.

I think Yoesmite is better but the crowds make it worse.

Have you been to Zion lately? I'm not sure the crowds at Zion aren't worse.
