the Bay Area for a lot more than 10 years. The expensive areas of the Bay Area are just not compatible with the typical one-income, multiple children, LDS family. That's why the church membership there is a lot of empty-nesters, or young families just starting their career, renting a condo or something, and 2 or 3 years later they move. That's how it was, a constant rotation of young families, and the old-timers.
