How do you explain Tosu's 31-0L,then toSu's 31-16L? LSU's 37-7L? Lville 47-21 L
With Literally college football best player at college footballs most important position (QB) running an offense that returned most of its players? With an established hc and staff at both? With talent at both places?

How did utah only score 19 vs us and put up 54 one week later ? And Utah held sjst to 16 pts...the same number they held BYU to?
If Hifo had simply ran his route and we get the TD that was scored..and we beat utah because of that score are 2-2 with a win over utah.
Literally what would you be talkinng about today?

With a new qb at the helm vs wiscy and an offense that showed signs of improvement vs a top 10 team...you would squarely be focusing on the ineptitude of the defense.

The problem is everyone is trying to lump all of the games together instead of examining each game and circumstance by itself.

I have seen 4 issues with the offense that have nothing to do with scheme or play calling.
1 o-line inconsistency in run blocking and pass protection. I believe their pass protection has been better this year..so improvement, but run blocking has not been.

2. Wr's flat out dropping balls. During the Wiscy game they had one wr drop a ball all game 1!!. We have had multiple wr's drop multiple balls. One of the most targeted wr's through the first 3 games had the most drops. Perhaps in practice this player didn't drop balls.

How in the world are the coaches suppose to know he won't catch balls in game and will run the wrong routes until he has played a game or two?

That wr was replaced game 4 and his replacement shined. IMPROVEMENT... (and that was with a new qb in his first start...a QB that played only 1 year of hs qb...)

3. Running backs doing all sorts of things badly, compounded by not having an oline run block well for them. Through camp we heard that the rbs really didn't have much separation and that we would see rb by committee until someone emerged. Ty and KS said we don't know if that is because they are all equally good or not, they just knew there was no real separation among them yet and expected the season to have a back emerge. Well...THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED!!

The back that emerged was injured starting the season though and is working his way in. That is one of the CLEAREST EXAMPLES of a REAL TALENT issue staring you and everyone in the face.

Just ponder what that is saying for a moment.Same plays, same o line different rb..Very different outcome in production! So Blame Ty's scheme on all the other rb's inability??? That makes ZERO sense. Therefore the blame has to be their lack of talent if literally all things are equal and Ula is clearly superior.

4. QB play. So our wr's are dropping balls the first 3 games, the OLine isn't blocking consistenly, running backs haven't shown anything... we are facing 3 top 25 defenses and proven DC's and the QB hasn't played well. 3 games with 1 qb 1 game with the back up. A Qb can't be consistent if everyone around him is inconsistent. So even if Tanner had been accurate on all his throws..(he wasnt) how would the offense look with all the other mess ? If Wisconsin QB had dye in the backfield and Canada and their oline didn't run block well...actually scratch even that..let's just say his most targeted wr dropped 5 balls 3 on third downs...how productive would their offense had been? Even against our crappy defense?

The offense looked all world in fall. Every offense facing our defense this season is looking all world. Our defense isn't playing any man press so how can our offense go against a simulated man press in practice? The offense gets in games vs teams who can man press and the passing game looks terrible. Why are we surprised based on these facts?

Portland state right? People keep pointing to PSU.

I don't know how other teams are scoring against them of what their current injury situation is. That really doesn't matter. What matters is PSU'S secondary was legitimately talented and they COULD and did press and cover our wrs.

So what makes the most sense? To me it's a combination of things, none of which are scheme or playcalling. Our offense didn't know it had the issues it has in talent and play making ability because they all did make plays vs our defense.

The 4 teams we have played all had secondaries that apparently are superior to our own. We definitely faced superior dlines. Remember the PSU game AND us wondering why our oline wasnt pushing PSU's around?

Not a scheme issue!

This whole team is a mess and if there IS ONE COACH who hasn't done any adjusting or shown the ability to do his job it isn't Ty. TY has changed things. He is trying. Tuiaki hasn't done jack crap on defense. All of the focus has been on the wrong area.

Bad defense made players look better on offense in fall camp and Ty has had 4 games to figure that out 3 vs LSU,UTAH,AND WISCONSIN's defenses.!!!. All top 25 teams BTW when the polls come out.

We still only have one TE worth diddly for goodness sake but THAT ISN'T a talent issue though right? Please...

This staff as stated when hired should get 4 years period. It's BYU so consistency in players is a REAL ISSUE not a myth.
Recruiting and getting the recruits into the program is an issue, not a myth. 4 years.

8-5,9-4,8-4,8-4-1,11-3. Rocky longs record his first 5 years at sdsu as HC. Harbaugh at Stanford? Worse than that..

We should be concerned, but not panicking...not yet
