Correct. If that's the definition of upselling, that's ethical
For example, somebody might see value in having insurance covering remote scenarios. It's their call in the end.

On the other hand, if you're charging somebody a higher price for the same product because they are an easy mark, that's unethical. That's basically how it works in door to door sales. Vacuum cleaner (Filter Queen) salesmen back in the day would charge $2K if the customer would be OK with it. However, if they're met with resistance, they can drop that price all the way down to $900. The scheme seemed unethical to me.
