It doesn't appear he is enrolled. Holding his scholarship does not make him a full-time student for the purpose of contacting other schools, and this year would satisfy his original transfer requirement. The problem is that he's not enrolled at the new school, so the most reasonable reading of the rules appears to say that he's got to be enrolled at the new school for a year before he starts playing, but it's possible he'll try to argue that not being enrolled at his old school for a year should count the same way, (assuming HC wouldn't release his transcripts for transfer or Kalani wouldn't release him to transfer until after the semester started). That would be a possible hardship.
