What's the point of the ineligible receiver rule? Why make that a rule?
I don't see the logic in it. If a QB wants to throw to an OL who somehow got open, so be it. Why should that OL just have to stand there if no one blocks him and all of the defenders drop back to defend against the throw to receivers?
