Been doing the 5x5 program for 2 months and got some pretty cool milestones this
week. 300 lb squat (5×5), 250 bench ( 1 rep short of 5x5), 355 deadlift (did 2 sets of 5). I'm at 195 on the bent over rows, so just short of 200. Shoulder press I maxed out on pretty quickly. Started doing seated military press and can do more weight, with no shoulder pain, only at 135 now (was stuck at 125 standing).

I think I'll stick with it another month, but will probably be much slower to go up in weight as reps are getting much tougher at the end. Its been great to get my leg strength up as I've neglected squats far too often in my life. Plan on going to more of the BLS program after that, but the 5x5 has been a great build up. I'm doing more weight with my reps on both squat and deadlift than I've ever done in my life, and think I could get close to my previous Max on bench (285 from 12 years ago) if I maxed out.

Anyway. Decided to start the 5x5 program after reading from a few people on here, and it's motivated me to lift better, and I'm seeing results. I'm about 7 lbs heavier than when I started (thank you holidays) but at least some of that is muscle.
