I guess I'm not sure what your main point is. NBA scouts and GMs will find you and draft you high if you are good enough. also, they won't be deterred by busts in previous years. if a player's main goal is the NBA, it really doesn't matter what school he goes to.
if anything, one could argue going to a lesser school in a lesser conference might even allow a player to have a bigger role, put up bigger numbers and from that, ultimately be drafted higher.
