I re-watched that game and found that the biggest problem in the Pnr D was hardnett not getting over the screen early....and bit being consistent with switching or how he defended things... Which left seljaas in some bad spots.
The 3 over seljaas was because seljaas was covering Hardnett's man and hardnett should have switched to seljaas' man or should have done a better job getting over the screen.
Hardnett and seljaas were atrocious on D in the Pnr.... But it's really hard for the big to do well if the guard doesn't get over the screen and stay attached to his man. Ultimately it is what got hardnett pulled vs smc for the remainder of the game.
The play haws got beat on for a 3 was when the game was already over and he was doubling Landale from the weak side iirc.
It really is stunning how much better Haws is on D this year.
Like, last year he was awful. This year he is one of the 3 best defenders on a team ranked #33 in D..
