He is a wonderful ambassador for the Church, University, and great with the students. He has worked hard to make the best out of the football schedules. I wish he could force teams to keep their scheduling commitments, but that is out of his control. He has also overseen important facilities upgrades. I also like his hires in the AD's office.
But he came in saying he wanted to model BYU after Stanford — emphasizing the Olympic sports and challenging for the Sears Cup. That simply has not happened to any degree. The football program slid off a cliff. Excitement in basketball has steadily declined since Jimmer left. There is no path to a power conference. He has a tough job but everybody is judged by results.
