I always recognize the informal exchange. I’ll help you get your bag up into the overhead bin
or push the flight attendant button for short people, and they’ll politely not dig their seat into my knees.
Although, lots of small people get a thrill out of addressing their inferiority complex by reclining. That’s fine and their right, but then it just turns into mutually assured discomfort.
