It was really a freak occurrence where the stars aligned perfectly

If you want to blame anyone, it’s the NBA Player Association. The league wanted to institute Cap smoothing with the TV money, gradually adding the TV money over the next couple of years to the cap. If this happened then KD wouldn’t be on the Warriors. The Players Association in my opinion, got greedy and wanted it all now, so that brought about the cap spike that timed up perfectly for the Warriors ability to sign someone with that new space
