grrrreat...a project. So now instead of BYU's mantra being "Wait til next yr..."
it can be, "wait a few years longer".

Problem with this hire is, Lee is proclaimed as a future/rising star in the coaching world. That's fine. Our problem is, we need to change the status quo this coming season, not wait for a future star coach to learn, grow, gain experience and develop his game.

I like Lee and would love to have him on staff. Problem is, he already was on staff as a GA the past 2 yrs. My question to you is: How does this move change anything on the team with regards to the status quo? It seems like just another nice, safe, easy, (lazy) hire like when Lacomb and Nashif were promoted from GA/Director positions.

Back when Rose first started he had a diverse coaching staff with coaches who had a range of experience in college. Guys like Dave Rice, Walter Roese, John Wardenburg, etc all moved on to bigger and better opportunities as head coaches or as assistants in major conference schools. Even the move to bring Mark Pope was a good one (despite his short stay) because he brought experience. Lee might be an excellent coach years from now once he gains experience, problem is, we needed a great hire now.
