I leased a truck a long time ago. Haggled with them for like 6 hours until the sum of the lease payments plus the price
we could pay to buy the truck at the end of the lease plus all of the purchase-day money we put on the table was like $200 more than the price of the truck that we had just spent hours haggling down. We did buy the truck at the end of the lease, too.

Hardly anyone does these days. Everyone leases which allows the auto industry to keep churning out vehicles.
