and it requires oxygen for all but a few climbers. Sherpas know this a difficult and dangerous stretch and so everyone but the lead sherpa stays back. You basically shuffle your way to the top and hope your heart doesn't explode.

Article said they found him dead in his tent — sounded like alone. He may not have been on a fully guided trip.

It's not a technically difficult climb, but that has never been the challenge of Everest. And no you probably can't...
