It's not true at all. I've seen this so many times on here. It's weird. You truly think people like a coach because he says motivational things on social media? What led you to believe this? Has even one person told you this was their reasoning or listed it publicly?
People like him because he has a long history of success and has been around the game for quite a while, something we don't always get in assistant coaches at BYU.
And because he's a great recruiter with connections that can really go a long way for a program like BYU that needs an extra boost to get kids who otherwise may not fit the pool.
And because he's a good role model for those kind of players once they're at BYU... Some of them gave a lot of credit to him for being a mentor to them in a place where they don't necessarily "fit." Hoffman was one of them and there are plenty of others. A great Christian guy who can help those players feel more at home, who understands how to fit in without having to be Mormon.
Let's stop the silly idea that any fans like him because he tweets motivational things in all caps. Good gravy. People like him because of football. You can say you (now) no longer miss him without making up bogus stuff about how he is valued.
