not just the "elite" but having other schools and expanding them over the last couple of decades. Within the church's college system there is a place for every single person that wants to attend a church school. The church's purposes are/were being fulfilled as planned.

So what it is the purpose of taking BYU and trying to scramble up the admissions process? BYU can be an academic elite institution and BYU Idaho and Hawaii can be there to ensure that the system is not benefiting only the "elite."

If they try to shake up BYU with lesser quality students I think it's going to backfire on BYU.
