smart enough to succeed at BYU. But, not necessarily reserve BYU for only the super smart like it was becoming. This way kids who may have better social skills, leadership potential, etc. can come and get a high quality education.
It makes sense to me, it remains to be seen what kind of change the scrambling will have on the student body and if it will in fact lead to better leaders at BYU. But, the concept is a good one. The super nerdy often don't make the best leaders, employees, etc.
