You've rekindled my interest so I'm going to watch the show again. You both seem to have it fresher in your memories, but I definitely felt like I could justify most of what he did when I originally watched it.

For example, I didn't remember him kidnapping his daughter but obviously as a dad myself I can understand why you would do that if you felt you were unjustly forbidden from seeing the person you love most in the world.

My view also may be tainted by the fact that I couldn't stand his Sister in Law and wasn't a huge fan of Hank either. His SIL was AWFUL.
