Do any of you have kids? The U is double the cost of UVU...
Tuition and books will cost you about $10k a year at the U.
Tuition and books for a year at UVU is about $5k.
Housing at the U is also more expensive... You are looking at an additional ~$4k a year over Orem/Provo.
Talk to any parent of a student who's attending the U right now and ask them about all the added expenses (class supplies, Housing, Food... etc). The U is currently the most expensive school in Utah.
... less $$$ is why more kids choose UVU over the U.
For the record, I'm a Utah alumnus... I tried to talk both of my kids (ages 18 & 21) into attending the U over BYU. I am also a cheap man and am grateful they both ignored my recommendations 🙂
