experience. With maybe the exception of SEC games I've seen. It was definitely a social event but the fans were also as keyed into the game as our fans.
I've always thought BYU fans were generally more introverted. I don't think they are unsocial. Like you said..lots more families and people in groups. Not nearly as much mixing of fans.
BYU fan..but socially..I prefer non-BYU game atmospheres. Much better. But also like the laid back vibe at LES. You don't get the random fan who started day drinking at 8am and is completely torched. It has pros and cons.
Both atmosoheres are fun. For different reasons.
The lack of energy at LES has always bugged me. Like most people on here.
