A majority of time Tanner throws from his ear just like a vast majority of QB's. At times he varies his release point depending on situation. In the second or third example you see him throw around a lineman in between a window with a sidearm ( 2 o'clock) release. A bunch of QB's doing this a high profile BYU example is Jim McMahon who released the ball all kinds of different ways depending on situation.
