There is no fat to cut, BYU gives no financial support. They don't even allow them to practice on campus.  The team members have provided service in exchange for Provo HS allowing them to use their mats for practice.  This also has nothing to do with Title IX.  Coach Miner said they were just told that the administration does not want the club. My son wrestled with the team the past couple of years and it has helped him be a better student and a better man.  This decision by the BYU admin is very disappointing to those involved with the club. What bothers me most is that they don't seem to consider how the club has benefited those involved. The team has represented BYU well locally and nationally. The students involved have been richly blessed.  I wish there were more accountability/transparency in these types of decisions.  This and other experiences with the BYU admin are making it hard for me to remain an enthusiastic fan.
