the cheapest ticket at Alabama was less than the cheapest ticket at LES. Nor did I even say that the average ticket price at Alabama was cheaper that’s the average ticket price at LES. I didn’t claim any comprehensive analysis.
I lived in Tuscaloosa for the 2011-2012 NC (how many did they have by then?). I paid $75 per seat per game IIRC.
That was 5 years before I paid $1800 for 2 slightly better seats at LES (higher up but closer to the middle).
Yes, I’m sure Alabama’s ticket prices have risen over those 5 years.
However, compare the quality of the home schedule, quality of the product, and number of NCs the two schools have.
There’s a very simple reason we’re not selling out games any more and it has nothing to do with TV options and everything to do with the fact that my BYU season tickets rose from $400 for a pair of tickets in 2012–2013 to $1800 now.
Having said that, I doubt BYU minds not selling out. I have no doubt they’re making more money at those ticket prices despite the lack of a sellout. Good for BYU.
But let’s not pretend BYU tickets are a bargain
