I don’t think anyone is expecting that we’ll put Zach in and go on a 7 game winning streak to end the season but we have nothing to lose by trying to catch a spark by putting him in.
It reminds me of the offense in 2011 with Heaps. It was anemic to begin the year, and finally the coaches threw Riley in against USU to just try and produce some momentum. It worked and suddenly all the other limitations of that team/offense seemed to be less pronounced. At QB you don’t know how a player is going to affect everyone around him until you put him in there. There’s a decent chance Zach will make our WRs and TEs look better than they do now.
