Your making it sound more glamorous than it is.
Your description is missing the 18 hour days that start with early morning workouts, those lead into classes (sometimes there is no time for a shower), then team/position meetings, mandatory naps, and afternoon & evening practices. Practices are built around that week's game time, so if its a late night game practice happens late. Then home and directly to bed (all sleep has to be logged and reported).

If a game is on Saturday players will have some free time Sunday, but players are required to visit the trainers for bumps/bruises and recovery needs from the game. Some film review & study is also done on Sunday (even if it's not talked about much). LDS players are HIGHLY encouraged to go to church and handle church callings... so Sunday is normally just as busy and the rest of the week.

Food is covered during the season but not as much as you think. During the season they get 3 meals per day, offseason (at byu) its only 10 meals a week. Players are responsible to cover the gaps in nutrition to maintain weight.

Spring semester the player's stipend is cut to about 1/3 its normal amount. Players still have to pay rent, buy food and survive.

Summer semester players don't get any stipend. Most players end up scrounging up temp jobs (security, cleaning garbage cans..etc) or living off parents to pay rent and buy food. They can work BYU camps and get a few dollars... but it's not enough to live off.

Then you have homework & study time... Yes players get tutors. But those tutors help cover missed classes for game travel. Players don't have the luxury of normal study time like normal students.

If you think the life of a student-athlete is easy... feel free to try it one day. The roster is full of kids that can't make it through a single semester.
