And many, many other coaches would have lost the game on that decision.
Basically, the coaches said, "We don't have faith in our offense, but we are going to put it on our offense to get the job done with less than two minutes left in the game."
NIU's offense wasn't going anywhere because they suck. When you have 4th & 1 at midfield and you're in a situation like BYU was in, you go for it.
