I understand there are dynamic effects, and lowering tax rates will have an
effect on economic activity. I just doubt that, for example, the round of stock buybacks--which receive favorable tax treatment--financed by the tax cut are a great argument for saying the tax cut spurred enough investment to compensate for the lower rates.
But you're right, it's not a given, just as much as SO's arguments aren't a given. But I think the two of us are having too much fun butting heads to be rational.
