I agree with you, there’s nothing wrong with being a casual fan. I don’t think that’s the main jist of his post. It’s casual fans that go to a game yet yell at and boo the refs, as if they know what they’re talking about, yet they didn’t understand the rules. I agree that those kind of fans are obnoxious. And I agree with the posters point about coaches in young youth leagues not following the rules because they don’t think it’s “real basketball.“
