I loved growing up in CA but I will say, i travel to SF once a month and tend to hate it more and more everytime I go. Great food and attractions but absolutely dirty and nasty. Also, being in a city where there is a very strong and homogeneous political learning is suffocating so I can see why some people get frustrated with Utah. You only need to see some pretty lame liquor laws to see how ridiculous it can be for "outsiders."
