to worry about when one Jeff Grimes is the man above him. Not only is being under Grimes one of the best possible places he can gain that experience, but Grimes can be the man in charge and tutor him, while he does what is more important... learning how to be a full time coach for 12 months. He needs the passion and drive and everything else to be a great recruiter and motivator and be willing to be away from home a lot. Which is something he could do after spending so long in the NFL.
There is nothing at all wrong with him as a choice for OL coach. CB is over exaggerating this whole experience thing. He's been a GA and would be coaching directly under a superstar OL coach. It would be a totally different matter if there were a different situation, but it actually fits.
But yes, someone like Houston making a big deal out of this is also silly. Because coaches have a job to do and they deserve to find the best possible candidate. They are not obligated to immediately jump right to Dallas without thinking it through and trying to get the best possible coaching, recruiting connections, etc that they can.
