Dude was a player but has almost zero coaching or recruiting experience. You’re kidding yourself if you think previous experience doesn’t play a major role in ability to coach or not. We just don’t know. Like hiring a dude with great academic credentials as a graduate in a key corporate position over someone who is battle tested in the corporate world and a success already. Plug and play type guy. I always hire experience over a good academic resume without experience. You don’t know what’s in the box of chocolates until you get it open and try it. It’s too late by then if you don’t find the chocolate to your liking!
