Finance these days goes and does an ECON degree because it is substantially easier. Not to say that ECON is easy but what you're implying is false. This comes from someone who recently went through the program. Finance has become very very hard to get into recently. Thankfully I got in at an easier time. I am not trying to be biased. If you talk to anyone at the Marriot School they will tell you the same.
