I completely agree that this is out of line and inappropriate.
I can’t soeak to his intent and if he knew the connotations or not. I can say that many people know rap culture and bro culture 100 times more than race history and race relations and the term Boi is used widely and indescriminately.
It’s possible that was the intent. Stupid, ignorant, and wrong none the less. But possible.
