Happened to me a year ago. Hired one we didn’t like, took our house off the market. 6 months later we decided to sell again with a much better realtor. He found out about it and threatened to sue cause we were still under contract with him.

We had no idea the contract with him was for 12 months!

The realtor we hired was in our ward and was giving us a huge discount, but had to turn it over to that guy.
