A few 14 year old girls were driving around the neighborhood in a family golf cart. There was a girl on the back (cousin of the girl driving) who was standing up. The girl driving took a sharp left turn and the girl standing up flew out and now has a very bad head injury. An ambulance took her to the hospital where it sounds like she is still in a medically induced coma so her brain will stop swelling.

To make things worse, the injured girl’s family does not have health insurance. Between the ambulance ride, and 3-4 days already in the ICU you can imagine what those hospital bills are going to look like. I guess the father of the girl who was driving is losing sleep over the fact that 1) it was his golf cart so they are responsible and of course it is not insured 2) his brother or brother in law doesn’t have insurance so they will likely be suing them to offset their large sum of medical bills.

At this point I don’t even think they know if the girl will live. Such a terrible situation.
