The requirements may need to be reviewed again if they are too stringent. It makes BYU look bad to have athletes accept a schlorship and then be rejected by admissions and shouldn’t be difficult for coaches to know the standards.

A 4.0 student with a high ACT who has never worked a day in his life is one of several categories of students who should be considered for admission. I would also consider admitting students, athletes or otherwise, who worked their tail off during high school or college and earned a 2.8 GPA. A well rounded student body with plenty of diversity is a good thing.
