Not really about taking it seriously. Grad programs are very different. It’s about
finding a prof mentor who’s a good match with research for the student. If he hasn’t even taken the GRE yet, that’s a hold up right there. It’d be like admitting a HS kid who hasn’t taken the ACT yet.
I imagine there will be a faculty willing to work w/ him if he wants Comms but you still have to apply with all the requirements met.
