You might be right. I am just asking. Had he committed to the U out of high school, could they have found a way to get him in without sending him to JUCO? Or was he a non-qualifier for any D-1 school? Because if we could have found a way to let him in without sending him to Snow, then he would have started at BYU in the first place and we wouldn't have needed to try to recruit him twice after two years of him growing his hair out and deciding he was too much of a free spirit for BYU (or whatever led him to the U after originally wanting BYU).
I am poorly informed I am sure, but my guess is a guy like Star commits to Alabama or Texas and they find some way to get him in right away rather than sending him to JUCO and hoping they get him post-JUCO after not letting him in the first time around. I just tend to believe guys like Star are all over SEC rosters without needing to go JUCO first and that they find a way to make it work with their academic institution.
