I should have probably phrased it better- but my understanding of the post was "is it still okay to ask for more?"
It seems a lot of opinion was "keep your mouth shut and be happy"- My view is basically that "it cant hurt to ask for an extra few percent". It can be viewed as relatively small, but is a bigger deal for the employee in the future (compounding raises, etc.)
Your statement may have been viewed as that it could hurt- as in you may feel that your "best offer wasn't good enough with all the work you put into the offer"- but it was an implication that I hoped to recieve clarification on.
