If its suddenly noticable over the span of a week or so, Id start with looking
at recently installed apps. If she has any "clean up" apps that supposedly clean her phone and "improve" battery life, delete those right away.
Id also do a factory reset before buying a new battery. Start fresh and go a week and see how it goes.
