exact way they choose to--by slowing down the game and grinding on O with domination on D. By their very nature Utah is going to win or lose close games. So, imo, we're not that close to Utah in the last 10 years. Whenever they have needed the few plays necessary to win they have gotten them on either D or O. That's cultural.
Re-watch the games again and you'll see that for every big play opportunity BYU has had we have blown it (Taysom's 2 pt conversion, pretty much every late 4th down play, red-zone conversions, etc. forever) whereas Utah has come through. They hit one or two deep throws when they need them even though it's not a staple play. As much as I hate to say it that's a sign of excellence and discipline. Whereas we have a displayed an attitude that reeks of unpreparedness and lack of discipline.
