Bottom line, Utah has dominated BYU for 8 straight games (is it 8? I'm so sick of the losing streak I quit keeping track). It doesn't matter if Utah won by a total of 8 points or 108 points. The end result is the same. BYU has lost every one of those games.

As an avid BYU fan, I hate the streak as much as anyone. But you won't catch me arguing with Utes about how close so many of those games were, and that means it's still a close rivalry. We're currently in a deep hole, and we just need to be quiet about it. Bottom line, if the Cougars want it to continue to be a rivalry, they need to start winning some games.

Here's the thing that irks me, maybe, most of all, and maybe shows that the series may be becoming less of a rivalry, at least to some. It's Ute fans feeling sorry for BYU, or trying to polish the turd of another BYU loss by telling us that it wasn't that bad, and BYU is good, but just came up short. That is sickening to me. I'd rather have them rubbing my nose in the fact that the Utes won again, and laughing in my face. I would hate that, too, but that's what we deserve from opposing fans in a true rivalry, not sympathy.
